Latest status of shareholding with respect to non-public and person resident outside India

As per the shareholding pattern as on 31st March 2020, the Non - Public Shareholding is at 50.93 % against the prescribed limit of 49% and the public holding is 49.07% against the minimum prescribed limit of 51%. Therefore, there is no space available for the acquisition of shares from Public to Non-Public Shareholders. The number of shares available for person resident outside India is 6,33,715 (0.13%).

NOTE:-

SEBI vide its letter dated May 13, 2019 to NSE has allowed the transfer of stake/partial stake in NSE between/amongst Non-Public Shareholders (other than LIC) and advised that Non - Public Shareholding in NSE shall not increase beyond the current level and institutional/individual limit on shareholding shall not be breached as specified in SECC Regulation"
